Mondays March 11-April 15 Noon-1:30 Bring a bag lunch. It is a tremendous journey through Lent to Good Friday and Easter—and just as in our lives we go from deep despair to new hope, from paralyzing mourning to overwhelming joy, from a crucial death to life in abundance. This class will use creative arts to help facilitate feelings and sharing. The creative artistic elements included: meditation/guided imagery, photography, music therapy (led by a board-certified music therapist), journaling and storytelling, and art therapy (led by a board-certified art therapist).

Romans 8:38-39 "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."
I think the time change shocked us all. May we recover in the extra hour of sunlight.

From the desk of Rev. Rod Brayfindley, "After all the grief in the communities of color in Sacramento over Stephon Clark’s death and so many similar police incidents, we are back to grieving at the announcement of the DA’s this last Saturday. Like all good citizens of Sacramento, we expect our law enforcement officers and those who lead them to be respectful of the American right to protest. We call on Chief of Police Hahn to provide absolute respect and zero intimidation from his department as a vital tool for de-escalation in this tense and fraught situation. The rights of Sacramento citizens to protest against the decision of our District Attorney must be kept sacrosanct." Rod Brayfindley, Senior Pastor Sacramento First United Methodist Church
